• Welcome to American Heritage Girls
  • Troop CA4112

Thank you for seeking information about our troop and ways to invest in your girls’ character development and desire for Christ in their lives.  Please look around this site to learn more about our troop.  We are happy to have you!

What is American Heritage Girls?

Our troop is an officially chartered member of American Heritage Girls (AHG).  We welcome biological girls 5-18, embracing Christian values and encouraging family involvement.  AHG has troops in every state and 15 countries around the world!  Please click here to learn more about AHG.  Watch this video to hear Christian leaders talk about the challenges of raising Godly girls in our modern culture, and how AHG can help.

The AHG mission is: “Building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country.”

The AHG Statement of Faith is:  We believe that there is one Triune God–Father; Jesus Christ, His one and only Son; and the Holy Spirit–Creator of the universe and eternally existent. We believe the Holy Scriptures (Old and New Testaments) to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We believe each person is created in His image for the purpose of communing with and worshiping God. We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, Who enables us to live godly lives. We believe that each individual is called to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength; and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We believe God calls us to lives of purity, service, stewardship, and integrity.”  More clarity can be found on the AHG web site by clicking here.

When and where do you meet?

We are chartered by Awaken Church Balboa Campus.  We function as a ministry of the church and meet at the building on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month.

What do you do?

We begin our meetings with a flag ceremony and devotional time.  Afterward, we break out into units to work on badges or faith awards.  In addition to our regular Friday meetings, we offer many opportunities for community service and outdoor adventure.

How much does it cost?

Some of the money collected for the program supports AHG at a corporate level and some of it stays with the troop to fund our badgework and fun activities (like movie nights and camping!).  For the safety of our girls, only registered adults are allowed in the meeting rooms.  To accommodate this, we require at least one adult per family to be registered (but both are encouraged).  The registration cost covers the expense of a mandatory background check.  Troop dues cover a program support fee paid to AHG in the spring, cost of our troop website and accounting software, supplies for troop meetings, and a troop t-shirt!

The cost breakdown for a year in the troop is as follows:

Girl Registration fee (per girl): $30

Adult Registration fee (per adult): $30

Dues (per girl include program support fee): $70

Uniform Package (includes handbook): $35-$63

Troop T-shirt: $15

How do I get more information and/or join the troop?

You can click here to fill out a form and request more information from our troop.  We will contact you soon to answer any questions you may have a schedule a visit so you can see our troop in action!

What about my son(s)?

AHG has a “brother” organization – TrailLife USA!  To make things easier for our busy families, our “brother” Trail Life troop meets at the same time and at the same location.  To learn more about Awaken's Trail Life Troop, contact David Baldwin at david.baldwin@lig360.com.
